"so is my word that goes out from my mouth: it will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." -isaiah 55:11
on saturday, july 30, i began my trip to el salvador for the fourth year in a row. i was so excited to get back and see all of my el salvadoran friends, but also anxious to meet a whole new group of GHO people to work with! our first flight took us to miami where we found lots of other GHOers.
in case youre wondering, GHO means global health outreach, and if youre interested in more information, go to this website: http://www.cmda.org/gho/
as per tradition, dad bought a dozen donuts for everyone while we waited for our flight to el salvador.
once we arrived at the airport in san salvador, we found many more GHO friends and got to know each other very quickly!
on sunday morning, we got on the bus and headed to the local church in san salvador.
it was so great to see familiar faces, singing and worshiping with everyone.
the church was packed!
dr. andy lamb, our leader, gave a short testimony to the congregation.
and then my good friend, yan sim, talked about his past experience with el salvador and why he decided to come back again.
after the service, everyone stayed around and talked with each other - we met lots of new members of the church, and also caught up with some old friends.
here is the view from the window at the top of their church - amazing!
after church we went to lunch down the street at las gardenias.
the food was delicious!
that night, we got back on the bus and drove 4 hours toward the coast to la union. this is where we stayed for the week to work at the clinic there. upon arrival, we stopped by the host church where we were welcomed with praise and worship.
we were so excited to finally be in la union and ready to start our first day at the clinic! thank you Jesus for safe flights to san salvador and a great drive to la union.
