merry christmas eve!

"and an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with fear. and the angel said to them, “fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy that will be for all the people. for unto you is born this day in the city of david a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. and this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” -Luke 2:9-12

on Christmas Eve, the whole fam went to St. Marks for the christmas eve service and then went back to chris and mere's for presents and food. when i got there, david and brooks were already very into the blocks.

soon we started opening presents. mom loved her picture from david and katie!

lauren and i were really excited about our new blankets from them as well. i may or may not have been attached to my blanket ever since i opened it that night.

brooks was very excited to help open presents.

dad got everyone silly string - sadly, we haven't had our silly string war yet... soon though!

in the end, brooks picked up all the paper and put it in a trash bag..... and then he proceeded to take everything out of the trash bag and we were left with this scene:

later that night, back at home, dad and i put together a couple of brooks' bigger toys. first off, the cozy coupe. i swear these things were bigger when i had one.

then we moved onto the radio flyer...

and it turned out looking great!

what an awesome Christmas Eve with so many people i love. thank you Lord for my amazing family!
